The Maxx is an epic about a homeless man, who got wrapped up in a woman's fantasy world. This woman is named Julie Winters. Julie is a master at pushing down her feelings. When she was raped she created an Outback where she could escape. Maxx somehow found a way to get into Julie's Outback. He then became comsumed in her world. When he entered her Outback he lost his identity and now he wants it back.

Issue 12 starts with the return of good ol' Mr.Gone. He reveals that he uses dimensial portals to get into peoples Outbacks. This is a major development that shows us how Mr.Gone gets his power.Next comes the return of Julie, but with a big twist... Shes pregnant. This story also has Maxx and Sara linking thoughts so that Maxx can remember who he was. This is the big event in issues #12-20. Also in issues #12-18 is the mystery surrounding The Buick. The Buick is the key to finding out who Maxx really is. This will be revealed in future issues.
